Cracked Up to Be

Cracked Up to Be
By: Courtney Summers

What's the worst thing you've ever done?
When "perfect" Parker Fadley starts drinking at school and failing her classes, all of St. Peter's High goes on alert. How has the cheerleading captain, girlfriend of the most popular guy in school, consummate teacher's pet, and future valedictorian fallen so far from grace? Nobody would have guessed she'd turn out like this. But nobody knows the truth. Something horrible has happened, and it just might be her fault.

summary from back of book

My Rating: 4.5/5

I really loved this book. Parker is quite the unique character. She has a certain attitude about her that keeps you second guessing the entire time. It's very interesting to see everything through her eyes. All throughout this book I was dying to know what happened, why Parker was such a different person than she used to be and why she was suddenly alienating people left and right, pushing her old life farther and farther away, trying to disconnect herself from who she once was. I liked a lot about this novel, one thing in particular being the realness of everything from the dialogue to the characters. Everything was very realistic and true to what teens are actually like, how they speak etc. At least based off of my experiences anyways.
