summary from book
My Rating: 3.5/5
The Dark Divine was a very interesting book filled with mystery, suspense, and a handful of twists and turns. I have to say that the official summary for this novel hardly gives anything away which I loved. I've read books where the summary discloses what I find to be a part in the plot that would have been better left unsaid. With The Dark Divine, I pretty much had no idea what was to come while reading which in turn made me extremely excited to read on in hopes of getting to the bottom of things.
As I mentioned above, there are quite a few twists and turns in this novel that added a lot to the plot and helped keep me interested as things progressed. Although this novel contains something that we've all read about before (especially mystery, suspense, paranormal fans) I really enjoyed the new and original take on the familiar topic. It's not always the idea that captivates an audience but an original take on something familiar that makes all the difference.
This novel is plot oriented so I didn't feel that same attachment and connection to the main characters that I usually do when the novel is character driven. I did enjoy them however and have no complaints. I think Daniel is a stand out character for many seeing as he's got a lot going on that readers are eager to uncover. He's also dark and mysterious which tends to be a captivating quality for many.
Overall: The Dark Divine is a great book that I read rather quickly seeing as I just had to know what was truly going on given all the secrets and ambiguity present. If you're into paranormal YA with a lot of mystery, suspense, and romance, this one is for you.
The Dark Divine is one of my recent faves. I'm glad you like it!
